Temporary is closing on 1 September 2017. No further experiments will be scheduled, though you can still pledge Temps as supported experiments may form a starting programme for the post-Temporary project.
Microphones are expensive to buy but the components inside of them are not necessarily so. I'd like to get a group together every two months to play around with making our own microphones (contact, dynamic, condenser, parabolic, binaural, etc).
This would be minimally organised by collecting a few €€ from everyone who wants to come and then buying some basic components (elements, cabling, connectors). Then each time we meet we could experiment with putting the components inside different housings (made from whatever - trash, storage containers, old toys, doll parts, etc.) and seeing what it all sounds like.
If someone has some expertise on the matter then they could 'lead' or 'facilitate', as I personally have no idea and will just try to figure it out. Could we try to figure it out collectively? If you have an idea for a more directed project please comment below!
To create inexpensive and unusual microphones to be used for sound experimentation (music, field recordings, etc).
To learn how to make microphones.
Maybe if we make some really amazing ones we could try to sell them and get rich.
Once every two months, maybe, on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon for a few hours?
Those interested in sound experimentation, recording, basic electronics or just anyone who likes the idea.
Discussion:
I could try to lure in a microphone specialist I know.
I'd attend this!
I wrote to Pentti (Umpio) who has a lot of experience and he's up for helping out, though he lives in Turku and mostly works with contact mics.
I'll donate some Ŧ bills to make this happen even though I will not be able to attend.

I am putting this project on hiatus. The first meeting was fun and I would love this to keep going, but I don't want to be the sole person responsible for organising it. If someone else wants to take over, comment here and it's yours to run. Or I will re-activate this at some point when I have the energy.
