Temporary is closing on 1 September 2017. No further experiments will be scheduled, though you can still pledge Temps as supported experiments may form a starting programme for the post-Temporary project.

Description:

Blood, it's in you to give.

Let's meet at Temporary for the purpose of creating a dialogue about social responsibility by going, as a group, to give blood. We will walk together to the blood collection clinic (Veripalvelu, Helsinki, Sanomatalo) to collectively donate. Afterwards, we can reflect on the process we just went through and its consequences while we have a snack.

If you are committed to coming, please RSVP to this event so that I can try to make a group appointment at Veripalvelu.

DONATION FACTS:
*Every unit of donated blood can save up to 3 lives.
*After donating a unit of whole blood, the average person will replenish the lost VOLUME within 24-48 hours (depending on rate of post-donation fluid intake), but it takes around eight weeks for the donor's body to replenish all of the formed elements (erythrocytes, leukocytes, and platelets) lost during donation.
*When you donate blood, they test your blood to determine your blood type as well as checking for a variety of infections (Syphilis, Hepatitis B, HIV, Hepatitis C & Human T-lymphotropic virus). If they find something in your blood, they will contact you about it.

Goals:

To create a dialogue about social responsibility.

Timeframe:

Once every 2 months

Intended participants:

Anyone who is eligible to donate blood in Finland and others who want to give moral support

We will pick up stevemaherart at Central Station under the men holding their balls at 10:50 for our preliminary blood drive so if you want to meet there it is fine or meet at Temporary for 10:40 tomorrow (2017-02-17) ;)

my son had a minor medical emergency but it turned out to just be a bloody nose. ironically when i woke him there was a sort of large pool of dried blood next to his head and we thought he had coughed it up in the night because he's had a harsh cough. so i had to take him to the clinic and that's why i couldn't come today. i will come to temporary today in about 90 min. and if you are still there you can relate your experiences to me. then if the blood donation place is still open i can go there and donate too. ciao, jonald
