Temporary is closing on 1 September 2017. No further experiments will be scheduled, though you can still pledge Temps as supported experiments may form a starting programme for the post-Temporary project.
In the Night of Arts we bring together physics, poem, music and dance discovering the art in science and the science in art. We invite you to discuss with us how to make science communication more efficient and persuasive.
Who are we:
We are a group of scientists in training, who love communicating about the work we do.
We are enthusiastic about science writing, journalism, and outreach. We want to discuss new ideas, research topics and new knowledge generated by scientists, and broadcast it to a broader audience. We try to make complicated ideas simple.
We are The Science Basement.

What will happen when art meets science:
We gather together musicians from the Sibelius Academy, a folk musician and a bunch of scientists/poets/dancers to experiment on the WAMS project.
The project will be a combination of speech, poem reading, music performance, dance performance and open discussion.
Why should you come:
You will enjoy different kinds of live performance.
You will discover the many secrets of art and science.
See you in Temporary very soon!
The Science Basement is a very young organization founded less than a year by a group of Ph.D students from Helsinki Univ. We have been trying our best to share scientific knowledge with the general public by organizing all kinds of public lectures and events.
Taking the opportunity of the Night of Arts on 24th of August, 2017 we want to bring together physics, poem, music and dance discovering the art in science and the science in art. We also want to discuss with the audience about how to make science communication more efficient and persuasive.
